# Montia

> Montia is an online AI video editor: drop your raw footage and its editing AI cuts, paces and animates it, with captions, motion design, b-roll, transitions, sound design and a YouTube thumbnail.

Montia (montia.ai) is a French web service for automatic video editing, available in English and French. The visitor uploads raw footage; Montia's AI reads the word-level transcript and writes an edit plan (cuts, titles, animations, sounds); its render engine produces it as an MP4 video, animation by animation. Free during the beta; editing starts after a one-click Google sign-in, used to email the link to the video.

- Benchmark: In our example video, 95 s of talking-head footage became a 68 s edited video (-29%), rendered in 1080p in under 15 minutes.

## How it works
1. Drop your footage — Add one or more takes, in order. No need to trim them: dead air and bad takes are our job.
2. Pick your options — Captions, motion design, b-roll, transitions, sound design, music, thumbnail… every option is one click.
3. Get your video — The AI writes the edit, our engine renders it. You download the MP4, thumbnail, captions and metadata.
