What is Montia?
Montia is an online AI video editor. You drop your raw footage, Montia's AI writes the edit (cuts, titles, animations, b-roll, sounds) and our render engine produces it. You get an MP4 video ready to publish.
How long does an edit take?
Expect a few minutes per minute of final video: transcription and planning are fast, frame-by-frame rendering takes the longest. The tracking page shows every step live.
Which videos work best?
Videos where someone speaks: YouTube talking-head, tutorials, courses, vlogs, interviews, product demos. A video without speech has no transcript for the AI to work from.
Which file formats can I upload?
MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM, AVI, MTS and 3GP, up to 20 files and 30 minutes of footage in total.
Why sign in with Google?
Rendering takes a few minutes: Google sign-in lets us email you the link to your video if you leave the page. No password to create, no newsletter, and only your email address is used.
Are my videos private?
Yes. Each project has a secret, non-indexed URL. Files are deleted automatically 72 hours after editing and are never used to train a model.
How much does it cost?
Montia is free during the beta, no credit card: a Google sign-in is enough to start an edit. After the beta: a free plan with 3 minutes a month, then Creator (€15/month, 30 min), Pro (€39/month, 120 min) and Studio (€129/month, 500 min). Details on the Pricing page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans have no commitment and can be cancelled online in a few clicks; access stays open until the end of the paid period.
Do I own the edited videos?
Yes. You keep all rights to your footage and to the video produced. The music and sound effects provided are royalty-free for your videos, including monetized ones.
Which AI does the editing?
A pipeline built by Montia: speech recognition for the transcript, a state-of-the-art language model for editorial decisions, and our render engine for motion design.
Can I guide the edit?
Yes: the "Instructions" field accepts your preferences (tone, points to highlight, parts to cut). The AI takes them into account in its edit plan.
